Will those who bought my debt come after me?
After I filed for bankruptcy my credit card companies sold my debt. Will those who bought my debt now demand payments from me even though I am under bankruptcy protection?

Once the debt discharged in bankruptcy no one can come after you to pay that debt.

No. your bankruptcy would discharge the debt if it existed at the time of filing regardless of who owns the debt.

Creditors cannot demand payments from you while you are in bankruptcy if they (or the seller of debt) have been notified about your bankruptcy. If your bankruptcy case gets dismissed, expect numerous letters from old and new creditors.

Often times the discharged debt will be sold, our firm routinely sues these collectors for violating the discharge injunction.
